Jump Start

Jump Start Summer Tutoring Program provides enriching educational opportunities to students in Des Moines and surrounding areas. We strive to create an inclusive space, free of bias, for learning for our diverse group of students while embracing cultural values and identity. Tutors assess for gaps in education and focus on achieving mastery in math and reading while enhancing enthusiasm. Utilizing the Iowa Core Standards, we partner with students and parents for a successful upcoming school year.

Individual Tutoring

Individual Tutoring is offered virtually, in person, or hybrid for students entering Pre-K through 8th Grade. Tutors create an individualized experience for each student, tapping into their interests and discovering their motivators. The session’s frequency, duration, and location are flexible and aim to meet the student’s unique goals. We engage parents from the beginning and involve them in every step of their child’s educational journey.

Group Tutoring

Group Tutoring is offered onsite at existing summer programs hosted by partner agencies for students entering PreK-6th Grade. Tutors instruct small groups, incorporating technology, art, physical activity, and games to motivate students to the next level.
