March 31, 2015, Des Moines, Iowa – The W.T. and Edna M. Dahl Trust recently awarded Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) with a $10,000 grant to help meet expanding mental health services in the Des Moines area.
CFI’s Des Moines Family Service Center houses programs that provide critical support to many of Iowa’s most vulnerable children and families. In the past year, CFI has identified the need for these services to grow by 40 percent. With support from the W.T. and Edna M. Dahl Trust, CFI will be able to meet growing needs through this project, which will expand human services by 50 percent in three program areas: Youth Work Readiness, In-Home Family Counseling and Juvenile Justice Outreach.
The project’s renovation and upgrades will make it possible to accommodate up to 20 additional personnel in CFI’s current facility, extending services to an additional 2,130 individuals annually.
“Thanks to the W.T. and Edna M. Dahl Trust, we are able to help even more children and families find the safety and support they need to live happier, healthier lives,” says Amy Stapp-Arpy, CFI’s Chief Development Officer/Vice President of Development & Communications. “We are grateful for this generous support which makes it possible for CFI to meet the growing needs of those struggling in our community.”
