Kidsfest Coming This Weekend to State Fairgrounds!

Event offers families a low-cost, fun way to spend time together

March 3, 2015 – Des Moines, IA. Come out and enjoy the fun this weekend at Iowa’s largest children’s festival, Children & Families of Iowa’s (CFI) Kidsfest, presented by Veridian Credit Union.

Kidsfest is this Friday through Sunday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Varied Industries Building. Tickets are just $7.50 per person and will be available for purchase at the door. Families can access $2 off coupons at local Fareway stores and Veridian Credit Union locations.

“Kidsfest is a great place for families to get together, have fun and make a difference,” says Amy Stapp-Arpy, Chief Development Officer/Vice President of Development and Communications. “Every year, funding from this event helps improve the lives of thousands of at-risk children and families all across Iowa.”

New activities at this year’s event include two additional stage shows, featuring ventriloquist Lisa Laird and friends from Pockets Full of Fun; and “The Weather Dude” Nick Walker, a national TV meteorologist who uses his vocal, instrumental and songwriting talents to teach children the basics of weather and the importance of severe weather preparedness.

Also new this year, two private parties that are sure to create lasting memories for attendees: a Snow Queen and Ice Princess Private Party on Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m. and a Superhero Private Party on Sunday, March 8 at 10 a.m. Each party is limited to 100 guests and the first 100 individuals in line at the SE entrance before each party will receive a free ticket with paid general admission.
