Des Moines, Iowa – Nationwide Insurance Foundation recently awarded Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) with a $65,000 grant to support victims of domestic violence.
CFI’s Domestic Violence Services include the largest domestic violence shelter in Iowa and the only domestic violence shelter in Polk County, statewide and local crisis hotlines, medical and court advocacy for victims, assistance with employment resources, affordable transitional housing, and support groups for domestic violence victims.
“The Nationwide Insurance Foundation is proud to support organizations that make a positive difference in people’s lives during times of critical need,” said Chad Jester, president, Nationwide Insurance Foundation. “Children & Families of Iowa has an important mission to serve individuals and families in the community when it’s necessary to help them rebuild their lives.”
“Funding for domestic violence shelter and services continues to be a great need in our community,” says Amy Stapp-Arpy, chief development officer/VP of development and communications, CFI. “Our domestic violence shelter is constantly running at capacity, yet there are still many victims living in unsafe situations who need guidance and support to break free from their abusers. With help from organizations like Nationwide Insurance Foundation, we are able to serve thousands of victims each year.”
