Des Moines, Iowa – The Grand Hall at the Temple for Performing Arts was transformed into a space that resembled a beautifully decorated outdoor courtyard. The music of Final Mix played in the background while guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and lively conversation while deliberating which of the large variety of auction items to bid on.

Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) hosted 260 guests who enjoyed food, dancing and auctions at the 12th annual Tango gala held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Temple. The event raised over $125,000 for CFI programs.

Auction items included trips to South Africa, Mexico, California, Colorado and Las Vegas; as well as jewelry, local sports packages and spa treatments just to name a few.

“Tango is a wonderful opportunity for people to enjoy a fun evening while giving back to at-risk families in their community who are less fortunate,” says Amy Stapp-Arpy, CFI’s Chief Development Officer/Vice President of Development and Communications. “We had a great crowd this year and are very thankful to everyone who chose to come out in support of those in need.

”We appreciate our events committee and the volunteers that make this event a success. Special thank you to Honorary Chairs Roxanne and James Conlin for their support and involvement. Event committee members include Kelley Engstrom, Gloria Filean, Carla Gillotti, Karen Goldsworth, Stacie Hatch, Kelly Krcil and Alessandra Meschini.

Tango would not be possible without our sponsors and generous attendees. Tango level sponsors include Hy-Vee, Meredith, Nationwide and Principal Financial Group.
