Local Organization Celebrating 125 Years of Helping the Community

Des Moines, Iowa – Children & Families of Iowa’s (CFI) Fort Dodge Regional Office is inviting the local community to help celebrate CFI’s 125th Anniversary.

The Fort Dodge Office will be hosting an open house on Friday, October 11 from 3 – 5 p.m. in honor of Children & Families of Iowa’s 125th anniversary. For 125 years, CFI has been restoring hope, building futures and changing lives through the many family-centered programs for at-risk Iowans. Currently, CFI has offices in Ankeny, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Osceola and Ottumwa.

The Fort Dodge Office provides an array of services to assist children and families that includes Mental Health Services, Behavioral Health Intervention Services, Domestic and International Adoption Services, Anger Management, and the Parent Partner Program. The office has expanded services in recent years to include: Telehealth- a service that provides face-to-face interactive psychiatric services, evaluations and medication checks by using live two-way video teleconferencing equipment; Crisis Child Care Services that provides free emergency child care for families experiencing crisis with children 0-12 years of age, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at various quality day care facilities; Crisis Intervention Services that employ professional counselors to assist families and individuals in resolving immediate crisis situations, and helps them take the first step toward regaining control of their lives; and the Youth Employment Program which helps with at-risk youth ages 14-21 develop education and career readiness skills.
