Des Moines, Iowa – Guests enjoyed a fun evening out at Children & Families of Iowa’s (CFI) 11th annual Tango event held on Saturday, August 17 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines, all while raising over $130,000 for a great cause.

Guests at the popular social event enjoyed trendy hors d’oeuvres, dancing to live music by Decoy, and casino gaming. Highlights of the evening were the silent and live auction items up for bid, which included trips to Costa Rica, Las Vegas and Hawaii, as well as private gourmet dinner parties.

Funds raised at the event will benefit CFI’s Domestic Violence Services and the emergent needs of many other programs that provide support to the thousands of at-risk children and families the organization serves every year.

“We are very thankful for the generosity of those who support Tango and contribute to the programming needs of Children & Families of Iowa. Everyone had a great time and attendees walked away thrilled with the items they won at auction,” says Amy StappArpy, CFI Director of Development and Communications. “The proceeds raised at Tango will help vulnerable families get on the right track to living an independent life.”

We appreciate our events committee and the volunteers that make this event a success. Special thank you to honorary chairs Sharon and Kyle J. Krause for their continued support and involvement. Event committee members include Kelley Engstrom, Gloria Filean, Carla Gillotti, Karen Goldsworth, Stacie Hatch, Kelly Krcil, Lynsey Oster and Jill Thompson Hansen.
