Description: This position joins the Foundation team to help promote and raise awareness for the services provided by Children & Families of Iowa. The Foundation Assistant acts as both administrative support to the Foundation staff, as well as provides the development and implementation of the volunteer program at CFI.
As a Foundation Coordinator, this position will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Foundation staff in order to ensure successful daily operation of the Foundation and serve as backup for the Foundation Executive Assistant if needed. This includes assisting in the receipt of all donations efficiently and effectively, including private donations, United Way and in-kind donations. The Foundation Coordinator will also help coordinate the annual employee fundraising campaign. Raiser’s Edge software experience is beneficial as the tracking and reporting of donations is included in this position’s job duties.
This position will also be responsible for coordinating, recruiting, and supervising the volunteer program and projects to both help meet Agency and Foundation needs, as well as ensure a positive volunteer experience. This will include working with individuals, groups, and organizations. Comfort with public speaking and engaging the public is important to promote both CFI and the volunteer program.
Associate’s degree required; and/or demonstrated experience in secretarial work at a high level of responsibility that demands independent judgment and discretion.
Experience with computer systems, ability to understand and operate various related software necessary to carry out job functions.
Working knowledge of computer use including Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to manage fundraising software, Raiser’s Edge.
Should be personable, diplomatic, approachable and able to meet the public and work with individuals from varied backgrounds. Public speaking experience a plus.
